I wanted to keep my plans for a new game secret until Halloween, but while my teasers have created excitement for some people, they have created some confusion as well, mainly because people don't know if the Five Nights at Freddy's story is over or not.
It's very important for me to say again that there will NOT be a Five Nights at Freddy's 5. The story is complete, and the Halloween update and new game will not add to it.
That being said, I wanted to use these characters in a new and fun way because they are so near and dear to my heart, and I was excited to work on a type of game that I hadn't made in a long time.
The new game that I'm working on will be called FNAF World. It will not be a horror game, but a role playing game where you create a party using the huge selection of characters from the FNaF games, including the classic, withered, toy, phantom, and nightmare versions. I've been working steadily on characters and hope to start on enemy models next week.
The bad news is that it's unlikely that a demo will be ready for Halloween like I had hoped, since this game's scope is significantly larger than previous games in the series. However, I will release a free demo, as promised, as soon as it's ready!
FNAF World will be released on PC, Android, and iOS. I don't have an estimated release date yet since the game is still early in development.
I hope you enjoy the new designs of the "adventure" characters, as I call them. Stay tuned for more updates!

Featuring the entire cast from Five Nights at Freddy's 1-4, this fantasy RPG will let players control their favorite animatronics in a an epic animated adventure!
Get ready to enter a nonsensical world, with nonsensical characters, a nonsensical map, and a nonsensical plotline! Get ready for... FNaF World! (again)
I will be actively updating this game to correct any bugs or glitches that are found in the coming days. This game wasn't as easy to convert to mobile as I thought it would be, and there are still some audio and visual anomalies here and there. Overall, however, I think it's a pretty solid port! Enjoy!
No, there won't be an update 3.
There comes a time when you have to stop pouring sugar on a turd and start baking a cake instead.
I told everyone that I would release a mobile version, so I did, for free just like I said I would.
That doesn't mean that I'm happy with it.
I know there may be people who will say that I should have kept working on it.
The reality is that some of the mistakes made in development of this game were done very early.
"Fixing" certain things would basically be remaking the game from scratch.
At what point do you stop trying to fix a project that didn't go well and start working on something new?
At some point you have to walk away and stop trying to fix it.
Let me give you an example.
I wanted to prevent lots of loading times so I squeezed the entire world map AND all battles AND all bosses into a single frame.
Once that frame was loaded, you could seamlessly go from the world map into battle, and back to the world map with no loading times.
That turned out to be a mistake because while it did prevent lots of smaller load times, it added in several HUGE load times.
Each time you choose Bytes or change your party, the game has to reload the entire map, all battles, and all bosses, all at once, every time.
It was poor design, and can't be fixed without remaking the game.
And if I'm going to take time to remake, then that's time better spent starting over on a new project and learning from the mistakes of the past.
Not everyone was happy with Update 1 and 2, but it got the game at least to a point where I felt like I'd added some humor and some personality.
It's not a perfect game, and I would argue that no amount of updates it going to make it that way.
So the game is there for anyone who wants it.
It's not optimized very well due to the design choices mentioned above. For that reason, it might crash on devices that were able to even run Sister Location.
I hope that it's able to run for most people, and that people are able to enjoy it for what it is and find some humor in it.
Hey guys, so listen I want to clear up some misinformation.
Yesterday I made a mistake in the way I presented that mobile port. It was NOT supposed to be a big launch, or even a big deal.
It was just supposed to be for the people who had been begging me for a year to make one.
I thought I could just put it up on the store for free and let the people who wanted it, have it. I should have known it wouldn't be so easy. ：P
First of all, I'm not depressed or suicidal. The humor in the game was an intentionally harsh jab at the game and at myself.
So everyone relax. Don't take things so seriously.
Also, don't spent time thinking about, worrying about, or analyzing the endings!
They were just for fun. Plus, I thought people hated the lore in the original anyway.
But I guess the lesson there is to never try to please everyone.
Unfortunately, even this post will likely only serve to make more people upset, so I guess I'll just leave it alone at this point.
I'll find a better way to make the mobile ports available for those who really want them.
Everyone relax and have a good day!
(EDIT: Oh yeah, and this is actually for the best because now I'll have more time to make sure that the game is compatible with more devices.)
I wanted to comment on the final fate of FNaF World.
There won’t be an update 3, and there won’t be mobile ports.
This game had a good run, and it garnered a surprisingly large following here on GameJolt with almost 4 million downloads.
Unfortunately, as mentioned in my Steam post, I made some mistakes very early in this game’s development that are going to make further changes very difficult, and I think that that time and effort would be better spent on new projects.
There has been a huge outpouring of support and love for this game recently, and it’s been really heartwarming.
There’s a big hatebase too, no doubt, and maybe rightfully so, but that doesn’t diminish the amount of love that a lot of people have for this game.
Requests for Update 3 and mobile ports have been coming in on an almost daily basis, and that’s a real silver lining to what has been a dark cloud for me.
FNaF World will continue to have a home here on GameJolt.
It was a project of love for me and something that I enjoyed working on.
Thank you to everyone for their support and encouragement.
Posting this game here really opened my eyes to what an awesome community GameJolt actually has.
